Having played with the band The Lovin Spoonful for six years while touring around the world, John Marrella is an accomplished musician and percussionist. With credits that include being listed in The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock and Roll, John also toured as the durmmer for Head East. and he also played as "Ringo" for the original Broadway franchise of Beatlemania in the States and Canada, his playing credentials put him in a league few musicians ever enjoy.. Passionate about music, he is truly a live performer. Always passport-ready, John is a high-quality player, skilled in pop and rock, as well as funk, jazz, progressive, and Latin music. Whether sitting in for a couple sessions or heading out for an international tour, John is a musician who helps make a band sound seamless.

John ("Smiley") Marrella is a kick to be around, always in a good mood, brings life and happiness everywhere he goes. People just like the guy. He is a very talented solid drummer and a studio owner on top of all that. Very good stage presence and performer.
